I have just finished my contribution for the jewellery showcase of rings 'Past, Present & Future Makers Celebrate 30 Years at Manchester Craft & Design Centre', which is launching the same day.

Inspiration for this piece has come from
the building within which Manchester Craft & Design Centre resides, seeking
to depict its industrial past and creative present.
From drawings made of this former fish
market, I have hand pierced in silver a detail from the original 1870's
ironwork roof and struts using traditional, metalsmith techniques, and layered
this with digital imagery of fishing nets which have been encapsulated in resin
using contemporary, laser technology.

This exhibition is on at
Manchester Craft & Design Centre until Saturday 30 June 2012, and is held in both Studio 22, Divinity and Studio 9-11 Jo Lavelle. Participating artists are as follows:
